I'd be willing to put my Honda's/Acura up against them.

No complaints here. I have a '93 T-100 pick up that I bought new in Sept. 1993.

Just turned 293k this week. I'll buy another Toyota truck, probably the Tundra, when/if this one ever quits.

Seems to me none of em have too much to brag about.

I'd say Toyota and Honda are pretty close. I drove a Corolla 240,000 miles, and bought my daughter a '92 Honda Accord in '96 when it had 45,000 miles on it. Sold it to my brother at 115,000 miles, he gave it to my nephew at 180,000 miles, the nephew still has it - about 250,000 miles. No trouble to speak of.

I used to look for a vehicle that would last forever...but around here they rust out in a few years anyway. So give me great winter traction for five years and I'm tickled to death.

I don't believe anyone here has had one of the older V-6 in anything Toyota. As for working on them - at least all the fasteners are metric, no trying to figure out whether it's SAE or metric. And if you've given up cussing, don't try to put a water pump on one.
Oh well, to each his own.

I'm never sure how credible this particular survey is. Even though it's cited like gospel every year, it's based on survey responses that everyone knows are actively and closely managed by the manufacturers and dealerships. So while I tend to believe, say, that Toyotas generally are better quality than your average Jeep for a variety of reasons, do I really believe the results that say Buicks come in better than Bimmers? Nope.
