Not sure farming is the highest accident profession there is but it is in the very top with a high percentage.
I also pray for his recovery but he was blessed the rope did come loose from his arm and not also drag him. Had a coworker years ago stick his hand through new machine which had hyd steering to operate the key to crank the machine. The steering was hosed wrong and when it cranked running full throttle it ripped his right arm off. Only by the grace of God it was me as had not taken a short detour to the rest room would have probably been the one who held that key. Maybe I would not have run my arm through the steering wheel but it was easiest way to reach the key. now those who have hyd steering know to be very careful anytime that system is worked on. The steering was controlled by a hyd motor just plumb different that as a motor so two hoses being switch was the issue.
The other one that got me because I have two daughters was the State Farm Agent using a gas powered hedge trimmer tossing the limbs behind with the trimmer as he cut them, his daughter behind him which he was not aware of reached to catch them and lost her fingers on one hand. Two years ago a Mom with infant riding on her lap on a ZTR mower, the little girl fell off and lost her arm as the mower blade ran over it. Who in the world puts an infant on their lap cutting with a ztr mower...two hands to steer...come on.
We all have done dumb things, most of us are blessed nothing went wrong.

The pain was a 12... I screamed (and cussed) so loud my neighbor came over.
