Doubt it. Tannernite needs to be struck at high velocity from what I've heard. I believe pistol rounds and 22lr don't do it in general.

A bit of research says 2000fps. a brush hog doesn't hit even close to that speed. It would be the loudest mower in existance if the blade tips were that far above the sound barrier.

Mower blade speed is measured at the tip. Maybe someone (Bruce) can get us some "facts". I think you'll be shocked by the numbers.

Might want to look a little more unto mower blade tip speed. Most mowers are in the 13,000-16,000FPM range.
Bush Hog lists 14,632 FPM,15,497 FPM and14,307 FPM as the tip speeds of their 4, 5 and 6 foot Razorback series rotary cutters: Razorback Series Cutters

Note his research turned up xxx feet per second, not xxx feet per minute.

Still, I think the mass of the blade versus the mass of a bullet has something to do with it.

15,000 fpm = 250 fps. That is a fair bit shy of 2000 fps
