To kill bacteria, just get a bunch of copper pennys, and throw them in the tank. If you want to spend money buy copper washers, or just a foot long peice copper tubing. Copper kills almost all bacteria.

I had been looking and looking for a easy to use quality fuel additive. Came across this stuff and I'm very pleased. I've used it in my Mahindra and New Holland.
Super simple!!!! It is winter time, so I just dumped the whole bottle in, and filled the tank. Noticed less smoke on initial start up and less clattering at idle. In my eyes it was money well spent, and I will continue to use it throughout the seasons.

FPPF products are good. Highly concentrated... use proper amount. Over treatment is waste. Used it for 20 years in over the road semi.

Project Farm just did a big test on these. Looks like the Hot Shots Secret line of products is one of the best overall.

Really? Need more information on this.

I built my house in 1968, all the doorknobs are copper-plated, as were the better brands of hardware at that time. Copper kills germs and virus's, as well as trees, shrubs, and algae that grows on roof-tops, etc.
Got a tree you want dead, sprinkle a few hand-fulls of Copper Sulfate around the drip-line, next year it's dead.
A penny in a small tank does the same thing.

Copper has been used to kill bacteria and algae for centuries. All of the boat hull paints used to contain copper, until the EPA banned it in the late 70s, early 80s. The Barnacles also didn't like it and wouldn't attach.

Breifly:

• It disrupts bacterial cell membranes — copper ions damage cell membranes or "envelopes" and can destroy the DNA or RNA of the microbe
• It generates oxidative stress on bacterial cells and creates hydrogen peroxide that can kill the cell
• It interferes with proteins that operate important functions that keep bacterial cells alive

The 3 that I use and always have used, not only in the tractors but my big truck with it's 3406 Cat as well. Today, a certified by the EPA biocide is almost mandatory and far as I can tell, Bio-Kleen is the only EPA certified biocide on the market. Easy to tell as well. Just look at any bottle of diesel additive that touts itself as a biocide and see if there is an MSDS cautionary label attached 'as required by Federal Law'. No label means no biocide added. Real simple actually and you don't ever want to get microbial growth in your diesel as it's very expensive to remedy. I know, been down that road in the past and it wasn't a cheap date so buy the biocide and use it with every tank of fuel. I keep more than one bottle of it on hand all the time and the dosage per gallon of diesel is small so a bottle goes a long way.

When it comes to microbe prevention, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

yes in my ford Pickup diesel I had problems and I was changing fuel filters about every two weeks at 75 dollars per change. I finally used enough bio clean and changed enough filters that I finally got it clean

So if you drop some copper (tubing, washers, etc) down in a steel fuel tank, is there any danger of interaction between the copper and the sheet steel? Like....will it eat a hole thru the steel tank bottom?

Copper Penny's or just a short length of copper tubing, dropped in the tank, will kill nearly all bacteria or algae.
