My joystick has a lock on it, that makes it so that you can not move it. Now this works but then there is the natural drop and honestly, I would not trust that to hold anything. I remember where I used to slave we had chocks to go around hydraulic cylinders for our presses. This would work on a bucket also.

That is not what I am worried about. I see hydraulic hoses blow just about on a daily basis. You would be amazed how fast a loaded dump bed comes down when the lift cylinder hose breaks.....
