Yeah, that could make some difference, but I doubt it would be substantial. You will want to get a toothbar for it to help you uproot small trees. The backhoe, of course, would be much preferred for removing the willows, but the loader will do some digging. Just be careful and try not to go too fast or too deep. Buckets will bend!

Well the big day arrive on July 21. The CK30 HST was delivered in the morning. Dean Moore of Moore's Corners Inc. took the time to remove the loader and show me where it differed from the B7500.
I have very little time in the seat due to work requirments but I have noticed a big differance in what the CK30 can do compared to the B7500. That extra HP really counts. I noticed it is diffaclut to put into and out of 4WD but that may loosen up as it breaks in. Other that that no problems. A really great tractor.
I am sending a couple of picts of the tractor. The first is the truck making the delivery.

Here it is parked in the land it will maintain. The back fields are Bush Hogged and the front is mowed with a 60" Land Pride rear discharge finsh mower.

Wow that's beautiful. My dealer said that big folding ROPS was so heavy, it took four of them to hold it up and attach it.
That's a really nice piece of property you have there. I appreciate the pictures you're posting, thanks. John

Thanks for the comments John.

I like the idea of it just folding down flat instead of all the way down. It just gets in the way when it's hanging down into the PTO area. And it incourges you to keep it up where it can protect the operator.

In this picture where the trees are in the meadow is a brook. The land in front of the brook is low. This is where I am going to place a swale to alow run off. Thats why the CK30 came with a Box Blade. We are waiting for a rear remote hydraulic kit for the BB before begining this job.

Boy is it ever heavy!! I don't know how heavy it is to fold down, but it sure was fun to install. It took about 3 of us here, second one I did I was by myself and used the fork truck and a strap /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...... It sure is made heavy duty though. The ROPS on the new CK25 & 30 are actually made in Korea, all the other ones are made here in the States.

Al, that's installation weight of the whole ROPS, not the fold down, which is necessarily heavy, but not as heavy as the whole ROPS. I think your wife will be happy to know that it's heavy duty enough to protect people and tractor. John

Thanks John
I tried it out to day and it's not bad to lower and put back up. Bit of a reach pushing it up though. I'll bet it was a bear installing the complete thing.
Great tractor. Doesn't even raise a sweat running the rotary mower through very tall grass and weeds uphill. That was pushing a 21hp tractor to it's limit. An other thing I noticed is I use 4wd much less with this CK30. It just doesn't need it.

Now that I know I can drop the ROPS I won't have to talk my wife into doing it for me. Scared me for a minute though. It's getting harder to keep coming up with a story she'll buy to get her to raise and lower the ROPS /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

One thing I was amazed at on the CK25 I tried out was how quiet that engine is. My CK20 is louder. The power was there and was very smooth. One thing about changing 4WD to 2WD. It's sometimes necessary to move the tractor a little, push in the clutch and then change it. I've noticed this on several models, and it's true on mine. Sometimes it's just not lined up in the axle I guess and you have to move a little. Same with the rear differential lock, I sometimes have to move a little while pushing it before it engages. I've had that happen on several old models of tractors I've used in the past. Don't change from 2WD to 4WD while moving down the road, as damage can be done, and you may even through yourself off! John Has it gotten any easier to engage and disengage the 4wd as the tractor borke in? It is not a really big deal but you really have want to use 4wd to engage it.
