Tractor on 4x8 trailer

Can you give me a little help with that insurance,i may want some for myself. You see i checked into it and my ALLSTATE co said it was not covered on my auto plan if i lost it off in an accident .Even though my trailer itself was covered,the items i was hauling was not.They also said my homeowners didnt cover it when trailering off my property.
1*This made me refuse any tractor "favors" that i cant drive to.

This is my reason for buying a safe new tandem,brake controller ,4 chains and binders, and a weight distribution hitch,which was about the same as the insurance fee they wanted.
2*This was my insurance policy.

1*My insurance won't cover my tractor or protect me against libility if it's off my property . Don't matter it i trailer it or drive it.
I just turned down doing a favor for a guy who lives out the road from me because of that.

2*This still wont' protect you against damage to your tractor and libility claims against you while the tractor is off your property.

What i meant by this statement ["THIS WAS MY INSURANCE POLICY"]was,that it gave me peace of mind,trying to be as safe as i possibly could.Thats a big 10-4 on the no to doing others work.They had better be a long time close personal friend or relitive for that[and im still gonna try to get out of it[ ha ha]
My allstate company said my auto liability would cover damage to others [only]if it came off the trailer.

1*I know what you meant but I just wanted to remind you that there are other risk that this don't cover or protect against.
2*Speakking of this it just dawned on me that I've been exposed to the risk of no insurance on my tractor or liability protection due to the tractor being off my property on several occasions and I was completely unaware of it at the time.
I cleared off the back of my property lasts winter and had to go over on the adorning property about 10 feet to clear my land to my properly line. Had something gone wrong any time I was over on that 10 feet my insurance wouldn't have paid the claim. Same thing when I went over onto my next door neighbors property a couple of times to haul something back he gave me, Same thing happened with my neighbor on the other side when I cleaned up and removed and old dog pen as a free favor to him. I was only working from my property line to 50 feet over on him, I mowed his lawn free about 3 times a couple of summers ago due to his wife's terminal sickness that year.

Since this post got started on insurance I thought I would add an opinion. I have an umbrella policy that covers my cars and my houses. Is really very cheap considering and it covers liability above and beyond my home or auto policy up to a million dollars. With my company it is something like 6.00 per year for a house and 40 per year for an auto. You have to have maximum liability limits on your base insurance but that does not really drive the price of the insurance up that much. All it takes is one vehicle accident or an injury at your home to make you apreciate having the extra insurance
