Rat, the different colored containers seems to me to be a very good idea, but I'll admit I've never seen (or perhaps just wasn't looking for) a yellow fuel container. I have a red one I used for diesel, just shaped differently from my gasoline containers, stored in a different place, with the word "DIESEL" written on both sides with an indelible marks-a-lot. If I'd known about the yellow ones before I bought, I'd have looked for one.

I did what most folks do, bought red gas cans and wrote Diesel fuel all over them. I won't be able to mix it up with anything else because my regular gas cans are metal and my fuel cans are plastic, not to mention that I buy #2 off road which is dyed the deepest red I've yet to see.

Couldn't find the one I remembered, but found an even better one at Northern Tool (www.northerntool.com). 5 gallon plastic with hand pump and 4 foot hose with nozzle for $25. Can get just the pump, hose, nozzle for $15--assume it fits most plastic containers. 4 foot is about perfect for a B-Series.

Wen, sounds like it is needed in your case and you are smart to use the system that works for you. I do have MEK, naptha, paint thinner, etc, but for those items, I just leave them in the well marked container in which they came. The only bulk items I buy are gas and diesel and have never made the mistake of pouring one product into the wrong machine. Perhaps its the way diesel smells, looks and weighs compared to gasoline. Did you know diesel weighs more then a pound per gallon over gas? My ideal setup would be to have a portable 30 gallon pump container on wheels for my diesel, but those are pricey and I would rather put that into the tractor. Rat...

P.S. I always keep my diesel tank full to keep out moist air resulting in condensation. For that reason, no one else ever needs to fill my tank and make that mix up between gas and diesel.
