Tractor rolled over on me this morning

There’s a run away diesel. Turbo exploded and wiped out some components to cut it off. First thing you notice is the back brakes burning. He was standing on the brake pedal and it wouldn’t shut down.

I am guilty as sin for all kinds of environmental crimes, I assure you. But mostly, not just for fun, or "sport". You could say, to each their own, but when it effects the environment, effects other people, animals and beings, adversely, that's not really the case any more.

We all are. That’s why we shouldn’t point fingers at others. Remember, when you point the finger at someone you have more pointing at yourself than you do them.

It’s like def fluid, saving the worlds environment one plastic jug in a cardboard box at a time.

That is why I do watch and criticize MYSELF, FIRST and FOREMOST.

As far as the Industrial toys go. They are more environmentally friendly in a number of ways. They have a longer service life than your typical consumer garbage and far less plastic. Steel is a readily recycled product.

Funny you mention that. The merging of the Taliban and Alabama has been in the news a lot lately.

I would get a tow truck or someone with a good track excavator and someone who knows how to do it correctly. Seen a lot of damage done to equipment by willing helpers.

Riiiiight. That is why OSHA requires them for all employee operated tractors (except in special circumstances).
Please show some facts to back up your claims.

there was a post I believe in the safety forum explaining how the operator died even though he had a 2 point ROPS. the tractor slid down the hill, and folded the ROPS over.. either forward or backward, I don't remember..

That rare occurrence and rolling into the water and having your seatbelt get stuck would fall under the 2% of the time when having a ROPS will hurt, not help. Having enough momentum for it to fold back is not the norm for rollovers.
IIRC, there is a 70% reduction in reported rollover related fatalities on tractors equipped with a ROPS vs ones that are not.
I'll take those odds.
Look at this thread, they were on a hill and the ROPS kept the tractor from doing more than flop onto it's side.

Use a ground eye anchor, thread it into the ground somewhere far enough to be safe and use a come a long on it to ratchet the tractor back up.

So what actually caused the tractor rollover?

• Side hill or steep incline?
• Uneven terrain/log/stump?
• High centered front weights?
• Strong gust of wind or ???

Incline while also trying to go over felled tree across fire lane. Also my stupidity.
