SmokyMtnMan – I asked them about King Kutter 1 and 2 bottom plows and they do have them listed in their computer, but didn’t have any in stock so I couldn’t see how they were put together (I don’t need one, I was just curious). The 1 bottom is $240 and the 2 bottom is $388.
Jerry – I was afraid that the lack of competition was going to allow them to raise their prices. Fortunately, we have a Big Blue (local to SW IN, NW KY and SE IL) and they are lower on implements. But, Big Blue doesn’t have much inventory and aren’t doing well. I won’t be surprised if they go out of business soon.
Bill – “tools, hardware, lawn & garden, pet food, auto parts, clothes, etc” cheaper at Walmart and other places. I agree, except for one thing. I priced a 7/8” drill bit at Lowes and it is $25, and at Sears it is $22, but at TSC it is $17 (Mibro).
I was disappointed on the implement prices at TSC. They’re higher than Big Blue or the local independent tractor place I’ve already bought things from (D&J Equipment in Nashville, IN). For example, a King Kutter 6’ yard rake is $320 at Big Blue and at D&J, but $370 at TSC. The King Kutter 5’ bush hogs (rotary cutter) are $550 at TSC, but I bought one at D&J for $500 (and it’s a blue one, which matches my Boomer better than a yellow one). They have decent prices on pressure washers, but Lowes beats them. They have good prices on hydraulic cylinders, but no top link cylinders. They have good prices on implement paint and lots of colors, although they don’t have New Holland blue, just Ford blue. Overall, most of their smaller items are priced pretty good. I was disappointed that they don’t sell trees, garden plants, etc, like Quality did. The people were friendly, but not very knowledgeable and there were only 2 in the store. But, I run into that problem at Walmart, Kmart, and pretty much everywhere.
I asked them when they were having their grand opening and they said probably May 10-12, so I'll wait until then to buy anything.
