I was looking at the new 2009 catalog and it's showing countyline attachments that were KingKutter last year. It looks like they actually just used the old KingKutter pictures from last year and just changed the top of the page. I would have asked about it yesterday when I was at my local store, funny thing is I could have sworn that I saw kingkutter literature yesterday on one of the racks.

My local Tractor supply switch to another brand Farm Force?? which looks like the same exact attachment, same color, just different sticker on it. But anyway's I wanted a rear blade with offset and tilt and this farm force company doesn't offer a model with those features. The guy at the store was actually very helpful and knew what he was talking about(for once) and told me that I could "rain check" the king kutter rear blade with the offset/tilt. This was about 2 months ago, so I guess you can still get King Kutter implements at TSC only under special order, they ship it on the next truck to the store(usually 2 weeks) and call you when its there. I don't know if your in the market or looking for a king kutter implement, but if you are talk to them about rain checking what you want.

My local TSC still has only KK as of last week and they were fully stocked.

I stopped by my local TSC store yesterday and they had a group of "Dark Horse" brand attachments on sale for 50% off. They looked like KK stuff but in gray primer and not yellow paint. I'm tempted to get the 6' blade for $200.

Funny SimS............ when i first read this thread, i thought to myself," Hope this doesn't go the way of the Dark Horse brand of attachments they tried".

I suspect you are talking about the Decatur, TX store. Also at the Bowie store, their implement lot is filled with bright yellow KK implements. I think they must have at least a dozen rotary cutters all lined up.

And I just now came from the Denton, TX, store and everything I saw there was yellow and labelled King Kutter.

Did you check the new 2009 catalog?

No, I didn't look at the new catalog or ask any of the employees, so a change may be in the works, but I wouldn't know.

We were at our local TSC last Sunday and purchased a few King Kutter products. The manager told me that their gate supplier also carries implements so instead of ordering from 2 seperate distributers, they are going to order from the one... and I assume they'll get a better deal. If you have a problem with your KK, you can still go thru TSC to get parts and such. I'm not sure who KK will use to be the predominant supplier of their products now.
I bought a Countyline bucket spear attachment, but can't figure out how to properly attach it. I need to drill a hole in my bucket but there doesn't seem to be an instruction sheet. I hope this is not an omen of things to come.

This may vary from store to store. At my local TSC in Watertown, NY it was much faster for me to order idler pulleys for my KK 60" finish mower directly through KK via their 800 phone line.
My local store was talking 10 days to a couple of weeks. The KK folks got the parts to me in a matter of a few days.

I think it is just sticker swapping.
The Connecticut store that I bought my KK tiller at was selling KK as Farm Force a few years ago, quite obvious when it says KK on one side and FF on the other side of the SAME UNIT !

The New Hampshire store was selling Speeco post hole diggers as Countyline a couple of months ago, probably still are.

Not THAT different from Mitsubishi cars with Dodge stickers, or Ahh, nevermind.

I purchased a County Line rotary cutter from my TSC in Kerrville, TX yesterday. They told me they were relabled KK units.

I think they just do the old "Sears" thing! Put out a bid for tools, and see who wins! Then take that (low-bid) green poulan chain saw, order it in red with Craftsman Stickers on it! Not saying it's bad, but why don't they just say "Exclusively at Tractor Supply, County Line Implements, made by King Kutter"! They think people don't know? ~Scotty

There are NOW several different suppliers that make equipment for Tractor Supply Co. It depends in which part of the country you live as to who makes the product that you see in stores with the County Line decal on it.

I bought a 6ft KK tiller at a TSC in NH this past spring. Mine was right next to a 5ft Countryline tiller. Other than the one foot difference and some decals there was absolutely no difference between them. Even the serial numbers were KK serial numbers on the Countryline. I called KK and they confirmed that they just use different decals at the request of TSC but the equipment is made on the same production lines with the same standards....at least for the tillers.

Hmmmm King Kutter is made in the USA. Tractor Supply is probably trying to replace them with something made in China to match the rest of their junk. :)

I believe you are absolutely right. Also, as a retailer of King Kutter, TSC provides warranty on the products they sell. It must be pretty darn hard to identify a KK bought at TSC and one bought somewhere else if they both look identical. I think asking for their own Countyline branding simplifies a lot of things. In the beginning, they sold KK implements painted terracotta red and with a big TSC emblem on them. In recent years, they have sold regular yellow KK implements with no TSC branding. I think they are going back to their original idea the cheapest way they can, by only changing the decals. That has to be much easier for KK to produce than a whole different paint job. ...just my thoughts. I have no way to actually prove this.

I just tried a reply and got locked up somehow will try again. Our local Hobbyfarm supply did stock KK and now it's all something called Prefiert. I tried to get some replacement bearings for a KK 6-1/2' disc there once and they told me "go to a bearing supply house". So much for supporting the KK brand there. I finally got the bearings from Agri-Supply for about 1/4 of the local bearing suppiers price. bjr
