Tractor won\'t start

I recently purchased a 2003 Mahindra 2310 off of E-Bay with 125 hours on it. I brought it home about a week ago and it has started fine several times. We recently had a cold spell with temps in the single digits and I can't get it started now. I have used the glow switch (but the glow switch light on the dash does NOT come on) I can hear a click from under the hood though. It starter turns but just won't start the engine. This is my first tractor. Any thought / suggestions?

You glow plugs are not working.
When the tractor turns over do you get white smoke coming out?
If so then you are not getting your glow plugs to activate.
Check your fuse panel for a bad fuse.
You may need a new Glow plug timmer.

You called it, I get white smoke from the exhaust. I did check the fuses and they are ok. I'm new at this, is a glow plug timer a simple / inexpensive DIY fix or do I need to call the dealer for this?

Mike: You're brave to buy a tractor off Ebay. I've bought lots of stuff on Ebay but there's a rash of fraudulent tractor sales there lately. Glad you didn't get burned on the transaction.

Was the tractor you bought local or did you have to have it shipped to your location? I've toyed with the idea of Ebay but I'm worried about getting taken for a ride.

Mike,
Where in upstate NY are you located? I am a Mahindra tractor dealer in Batavia, NY (near Buffalo). It sounds like you probably have a bad glow plug timer, but there are some other things that could be causing the problem. I have a test procedure that can be done to rule out the timer. I live outside of Syracuse and the tractor was just outside of Annapolis, MD. The transaction went very smooth. I didn't hand over any $$ until I went to pick it up. I bid a price thinking I would never get it for what I paid but when the auction ended I was the winner and very surprised. I paid $7,500 for a 2003 2310 with a loader, 72" finish mower and only 124 hours on the tractor. The tractor started and runs great but we are having a cold spell and I may have an issue with the glow plugs.
