I was daydreaming about how nice it would be to have a big get together for all TBN members in some nice, central location. Then I started looking up where some of you live and noticed that not many are as centrally located as I am. Figured if we all started driving our beasts now, the last member might arrive around September. Not a good plan!

Sure would be fun, though!

I think a lot of us have thought the same thing, Pete. What we're really waiting for is for Muhammad to organize it and fly all of us and our tractors to the big event. Nothing fancy -- just luxury accomodations surrounding a rodeo-style arena for tractor demos and stunt shows. I would really look forward to the gala barbecue with Bird and Thomas at the grill. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yeah, Vermont is about as centrally located as California, ain't it? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I guess we need to have that get together in my neighborhood, but of course, the nearest luxury accomodations are at least 50 miles from here./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Maybe two parties, one in the east and one out west. Bird will have to go to both since he is in the middle. (don't want to disappoint anyone now do you Bird?)

Pete.
Centrally located to what Burlington VT./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif I would think around Chicago would be a good place to start./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Maybe Scruffys new home would be even better. Give him a chance to be around tractors until he gets setup to get one again./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Pete, this topic came up a while back. The thinking was to meet at the various farm shows that are held around the country. Check out this thread: TBN Get Together

A fair sized group of Farmall Cub owners from the ATIS.net forum are getting together soon. A bunch of people are bringing thier tractors. They're going to have some demo's, like tuneups, governer adjusting, and such. Oh, and just plain fun tractor talk /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

They ran into the same issue though; people are really spread out all over the country, and even internationally.

There is a way to make this work...

Last March, a friend of mine had thier wedding on St Thomas. Not everyone could make that trip though.

Mike set up a camera and microphone at the wedding, and patched it into a PC. He had remote locations set up the same in Portland, San Diego, Baltimore, and one in Sidney Australia.

He was able to broadcast and receive between all locations. Everyone got to see the wedding, congratulate the bride and groom ect.

We could use Bird's place as the hub. From there, we could have a Ca feed, a Vt feed ect...

There is potential...

Harv,
You could sure come out to my place. I've got 200 hundred acres now of about every soil condition, hill, flat, etc. that you'd want to work on plus I've got a rodeo arena! We could butcher a cow and have one heck of a barbecue! Seriously though it would be fun to meet somewhere and have a tractor rally. Wonder if someone could organize a couple, maybe west coast, east coast, and midwest, and then link up like Robert said. What do you think Muhammad? Ready for the 1st tractor rally yet?

It certainly is a possibility... it will take some organization, of course. I think the regional meetings are a good idea so more people could make it. Bring your own tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I could handle a west coast, east coast, and midwest thing. Not to be to fussy, maybe early summer?

Boondox,

I'll donate the fairgrounds as a meeting place. Located here in NW Mo. Can't get much more central than that, and right off of the interstate! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I'm sure my friend Mike could help with details for live web feeds. There are a few folks withing a hour or tow of me that could live feed in; Me, Harv, Roger...

I'll ask about it, if nothing else but for grins and giigles [grin]
