My method of getting it down to the basement where the wood furnace is has just gotten easier:

First, I got a new tractor. LS U5030.

Then, after I got a set of pallet forks from Titan, I built a carrier out of a good pallet. I narrowed it down to 30" because my bulkhead stairs are 36" wide. Even narrowed down, 2 rows deep, it's about as much as I could fit in the bucket.

Drive her over to the bulkhead and dump her down. I chained the pallet to the fork frame so I don't lose the whole thing.

I hinged a piece of plywood on the stairs so I can fold it up and use them like regular stairs when I'm done.

Now to find an auto-stacker.

Could you get a pallet jack and put a pallet on it and just catch the wood?

The ongoing woodpile. Couple of years back, and still splitting to keep the missus warm.

Have upgraded a bit. Took a hay conveyor and converted it to handle wood. Put a set of grapples on the loader to move logs for bucking. Loaded the truck in two and a half hours last load. A bit over 3cord.

I see the pics didn't follow. they are back on page 4. number 37

Pat, I do something very similar to your use of the bulkhead only I do no stacking. I built this door instead and insulated it. I just dump the wood in the bulkhead, open the door and feed it into the stove. No mess or insects coming into the cellar as the wood remains cold as it is behind the insulated door and then is popped right into the stove from there. Eliminates the whole stacking thing. The plywood is resting on the stairs and I just take out the two bottom treads so there is a space and a "blocker" between the door and wood so it all doesn't come tumbling out when I open the door. Because of the slant, the wood comes right to you as it is removed. I just place it in a small cart and throw the wood in the stove from the cart. After the season, I just screw in the treads and its a bulkhead again. Yours may be cement stairs but I'm sure you could rig up something.

We made 50 pallets loading 1m2 each, but it is a lot of work to load them with 33 cm firewood
so i think that next year we make the firewood 1 m in length and cut it just before we use it
branches and leftover from the sawmill is cut into small pices with a Rebak

I am on a way smaller scale but want to do the same with bringing the wood in from the yard to garage - how can 1 get a hold of a set of those metal doo whickies to hold the side supports?
