Had to back up a bit here to ask about your scissor jack.I have a scissor jack at the head end of my saw to make the blade parallel to the pith/center.. Sawyer Rob I believe has toe boards that does the same thing only fancier. You can see it in red in the pic, you can raise the one end to get the center centered.
What would a jack like that be called, or original use? Is it specific to a lumber mill? I'm thinking not.
They way I was doing it was to lever the log up and put different widths of wood under it to get the desired pith height.
It's be way easier if I could rig up a jack. There's still the cost vs. not my machine factor, but for ease of operation I'd be willing to put
a couple more $5's into it.
What are toe boards?
