here(nova scotia) all road driven vehicals have to be registered.
farm tractors are a one time, no expirey plate, with FT (farm tractor)
others, including heavey equipment (backhoe, dozor, loader, excivator, forklift) that travel on the road ways have to be registered as "GT" (general tractor/truck). we have 3 farm tractors registered as so, and our backhoe, and cube van, registed as GT. all have to carry public liabilty, public disability insurance.
the insurance on our 580 case, states right in the policy, that it is only to cover us when traveling down the road. if we are working it, plowing snow with it, etc, we are not covered. that's a whole different policy, if we wanted it.
fyi, i belive the insurance on our tractors, and backhoe is about $125/tractor/year
