It's pretty when it can just stack up on anything outside....someday....

Yes, it is. It's seldom that we get it in measurable form. Most of our big snows it seems come with strong winds, so there's no measuring it, and the driveway is clear to the gravel in places and has big drifts in others. We'll enjoy this for a day or so.

This should be "interesting" to plow. I think 16+" is a lot for a rear blade, but it is very light and fluffy, so maybe... If not the FEL will get a real workout.

+16" of snow on non-frozen ground surface always makes for an "interesting" snow management challenge. Have fun.

The driveway should be frozen - we've had quite a bit of below freezing weather and small snow we had last week was not completely melted off. But still...

Further, it's stopped snowing now, but the forecast calls for several more inches overnight.

The good news is we are in no hurry. We stocked up on wine and cat food, so we and the cat should be set. :)

That's great news. Now that my wife and I are retired snow management is usually a more leisurely affair and like you we keep well supplied with the "essentials." ;)

Have fun with snow management.

South central Va.
I have mine at end of driveway with a tarp then an old car cover over it. I don't have a block heater but I just now put a trouble light on asphalt under it with 100watt bulb.
I'll plug it in tomorrow when I get up, it's supposed to stop about 11am then I'll use it.
Weatherman said it will be axle deep to a Ferris wheel. (Joking). Here I'm guessing about 8" so far.
I hate seeing big cedar limbs like this snapped off, cedars going down driveway.
Little cedar we brought inside this year. 20181209_170334.jpeg20181209_170406.jpeg20181209_170520.jpeg20181209_170432.jpeg20181209_172138.jpeg20181209_172216.jpeg

Looks like the bulk of the storm has moved over you now, Fuddy. We'll get a bit on the back side overnight they say, then be done with it.

I'm not concerned about the temps. We are supposed to get warm -- into the upper 30's tomorrow and 40's after that, so it will be find by the time I get out there.

Snow stopped, sun's out. We got about 18" in total. Here's the table on our deck with 17" of snow on it (it settled about an inch last eveing):

Here's the view out the living room window:

I shoveled out the front walk to get to the driveway:

Here's the tractor, waiting until I get out there and start on the driveway:

It's a quarter mile to the road, and about 150 of elevation drop. Makes doing down easy, but maybe not getting back up for a second pass. Should be fun. :)

Fuddy- You are fortunate that more trees and tree limbs did not sustain snow weight damage. That's a lot of shoveling. This snow was heavy/wet; nasty stuff to shovel.... At least for old farts. Nice pictures; thanks for sharing. Have fun with your snow management.
