trading up from a 4110 to a 3320

Today I tried to rip out shurbs with my 4110 Jd. rear blade for weight in back. (see photo of shurb). Broke branches but would not left the root ball with fel. Would a 3520 do the job.
Any one chim in if I am dreaming.

If the root ball was broke free a 300CX could lift those root balls I would imagine. I would check the 300CX specs to be certain. I have moved a 61" bucket full of dirt and concrete with my 300X. 300CX would only be better.

Reading my old posts I have (rethunk my tactor) I was going to go with the 3320, but now I am thinking about the 3520 instead. I 1st brought a 455 way back when, then went to the 4110 and whished I had gone bigger, so this time I am making sure this is the last one.

How do you make up your mind on size.
Use:
1. cut grass in town and out of town 3=4 acres.
2. maintain 200 feet of gravel road
3. each year have to re do road after flood.
4. work in the woods pushing shoving logs to cut for firewood
5. would like to be able to have grapple to pick up 4-6ft l logs 20 inch wide and load in trailer to take home in once pice. Hardwood
6. Snow removal. etc.
7. Handy man work for others.

Guarentee a 3320 HST R4s, with a 300CX with 73" HD bucket/grapple/toothbar and good rear ballast and loaded tires, a 72" 7-iron MMM and/or MX5or6, BB2072, and 3rd valve with loader plumbing for grapple, and the boom mounted 72" snow plow will do everything on that list! Add in a tiller and or other items if you need other handman tasks done. Do you need the turbo for elevation reasons at all?? Your tasks are not requiring more PTO HP. You best bang for the buck for those tasks is still the 3320in my mind - put your money in the best implements you can afford.

If you want lots better you will be moving to the 4X20 line to get a wider stance and larger snow plowing capability, a 400CX self leveling loader, bigger mower capacity, and a host of other capacity increases.

I would base this decision on my elevation.

I'm thinking about the 3520 too. With the turbo, I'm hoping it has more power to deal with the rotary tiller I have.

As far as a grappling device on the bucket, I really don't know what a 3520 could handle. I have pushed the limits of my JD 755 by picking up small trees knocked over in a storm, but only hauled them a 100 feet or so to a burn pile. Hauling logs out of the woods may be challenging. I'll just tell you how we did hauling logs and cut up wood on our farm. We had an old beat up wagon and we'd dump it on that and then haul it where we needed to store it.

We had had a furnance back then that would burn anything, coal, trees, old buildings. When natural gas came by our our house, that furnace was out of there.

Thanks Bloomington Mike: I am in Mo. So elevation is not a problem. Just want the best of the best and extra power. I would like to get a tiller for my camp area. Every year we have to redo our front yard from the flood and it makes pit wholes the size of bowling balls. I have a rear blade and rake too. The 4x20 line will be too wide from my town property where I have to get through some tight fits only about 75 in wide gap to get to my back property. So would the 3320 be as much muscle as the 3520? Same weight etc.

Thanks to Kude too: I use the tractor to haul to a trailer but right now its 3 logs at a time in the bucket. I thought I would save time and my back if I could haul 6ft or even 8ft logs to the trailer. I am planning on buyer a 20 ft trailer for the new tractor and keep the old one for hauling and that way I could unload at home once I went back for the tractor.

I am not a mechanic in any way, would I be better off having my dealer find a grapple and install it when the tractor is new or buy off line and hope to find someone that can do it. I am thinking warranty etc.

The 3320 is the same weight as a 3520/3720. Same size and same attachmet list on the JD site except for one of their flail mowers. They will both take the 300CX and 448BH wich are two awesome pieces of equipment for this size tractor. HP can be used in different ways - I was just not seeing in your list how 10 extra HP will make a diference. Now don't let me write the words not to buy more - if you can afford one get the 3520 or 3720. I am just thinking the turbos may make quite a different in price. Several members really noticed a difference in power with the turbo because of their elevation. I have not had any problems here in flat IL with power. I have not had the PTO HP need yet - have yet to use a rear PTO driven attachment truth be known - my needs are loader and mowing related and mowing for me is MMM. In addition I am doing all my work with a 300X - not even CX (I had no choice as mine was a 49 hour used model).

Just trying to help justify that BH (the right deal on a 3320 w/447/448BH = 3720 in pricing).

You are going to love this tractor. If you have justified this far concious be your guide.
