Kennatracs are good boots. Identical to lowas. Well worth the money.

For shoes, can't beat hokas.

I don't like mud, the kind that sticks like gumbo and I don't like dust as in the choking kind when doing field work.

I don't think there is a trail shoe for extreme mud... the kind that sucks the shoes or boots right off your feet?

Guess I'm getting soft in my old age?

I've had the Kubota well up to the axles in mud twice and what a mess... I like one of my trail shoes is still there in the mud.

Last time it took the dozer and a long chain to extract.the BX...

Our mud is clay. I avoid it like the plague. When I do get it on the tires or shoes, after it dries it wears like iron.

My worst-stuck was a big 4wd Case, a lot of years ago. Took two other good sized tractors, and a broken winch-cable to unstuck..... Never fun, wherever you are.....

I came to the conclusion a while ago that Noraly is tougher than..... well, probably all of us put together ! Me, at least.....

^ Liberian mud starts about 12 minutes in.... I think even Georgia boggers would be impressed. For the locals, it was Just Another Day, Getting Down the Road....

I keep hearing Hoka on here.

I can find them locally, so will keep them in mind.

Been keeping my 6's (post # 1) as Winter Tires, so have just been "re-amortizing" my ole Nike and Saucony trail-runners this Summer - had my money out of both, a "while" ago

Unfortunately, not a trip to Italy this week, but took the wife to Sport Chek on Wed, trying to find New Balance for her - no luck, but stumbled on these X-Adventure GTX.

SALOMON X-Adventure GTX

Only had one pair in my size - bought it on Wed, and young lad working on the floor was kind enough to mention the back to school sale starting Thurs. Store is near work, so went back on Thurs, and got $50 off - ended up @ $109.99 - pretty good price for Kanada.

If these GTX end up being anywhere as good as the 6's for me (under selective-season use), I could have lived with the original price just fine.

Ended up with Black on Black (Henry Ford I version), not my goto, but I'm after function. Darn, they do seem to get some great colours ^ in EU though !

Those look similar to the Salomon XA Pro 3D that I am wearing now.
Hope they work out for you.

I don't jog much, but I switched to Salomon shoes for daily life many years ago and don't plan to ever go back to anything else. Waterproof, rugged sneakers with excellent traction, and the uber convenient zip-tightening system. terrific value for ~$120-140 depending on sales/closeouts.

And SO durable. I get about 2 years out of a primary pair before I switch them to my "work" shoes.

My only wish was that they didn't have 27 different lines of almost the same shoe, and mostly in such garish, awful color combinations (nor do I want an all black shoe)

Good suggestions in this thread... always useful, esp. in a smaller market like Canada.

Heading out with these new ones tomorrow for my line-road loop.... will put miles on before the snow flies this year (jogging only), I have high hopes for them standing up well
