There are many good brands of trailers. The deck size of the trailer you need can be figured with a tape measure from your bucket to the back of the tractor. If you are ever going to add a 3 pt. attachment add that length in also then add another couple feet for a safety margin so you can move the tractor forward or backward to change toungue weight. Do you ever plan on using the trailer to haul something else like a car, truck, or something wider than your tractor? If so, then you will need a wider trailer bed, something with 82" or more between the fenders. Another trailer use option would be to get or build sides for the trailer for hauling dirt, stone, etc.
I have two trailers. A 20'L x 8.5'W tilt bed by H&H with removable fenders for easy side loading and a 20' plus 4' Appalachian gooseneck deckover for heavier equipment. Prices are on their websites.
If you are only using it for the tractor you can get a reasonably price equipment trailer. Most are 70-76" wide x whatever length you want.

I have very much been a fan of GatorMade trailers. I looked at many trailers and those and the CornPro trailers are the ones locally that seem to offer a lot for the money. I have had about five different brands of trailer, and I will say the GM trailer is the best of the lot. Some have been OK but others..... The thing I like about both brands mentioned are that they have good quality priming and metal treatment and use high quality brakes, axles and tires. To me, one can tell a lot about a trailer by these few details. All in all, for what one gets these brands are tough to beat, but as George mentioned, there are many good brands. There are also many poor brands that are not worth the money and might not even be safe to use. As far as size, you could easily get away with a 7000# gross trailer, as those type trailers usually weigh about 1200-1500# themselves and the 2520, ballasted and with loader and 60" BB would weigh around 2900-3000#. This would give you a total weight of 4200# or so and would be easily hauled. The other nice thing is that if one day you needed to upsize your machine to a mid-frame, you will still be OK or gross weight. A large framed JD, though, would be too heavy for a 7000# trailer, of any brand.

I have a 6.5x12 single axle (3500#) that I haul my 2520 on when I'm going to mow grass. I have a 6x14 7k steel deck trailer I use when I'm moving dirt or gravel. I just got a 7x22 12k to haul two Samurai's but it will also haul my 2520 and gator easy. You can use most any size depending on what you plan to haul with your tractor, just keep an eye on how much weight your pulling to be safe. JC

I haul my 2520/200CX/46BH with a 16', 7000GVW, twin axle and it just barely fits! Weight wise I'm fine, but an extra 2' would be nice. I think I'd be in trouble if I put a rotary cutter on the 3PT. It's always good to get bigger than you think you need, especially if you have a 3/4 ton truck. I think mine is Topbrand and has a wood deck and 4wheel brakes which is key. Stopping is usually harder than going. All the ones I looked at were in the $2000-$2500 range.

I had a JD 4115 with loader and backhoe that I used a 7000# Big Tex 18' car hauler to take it back and forth to NY with. I also towed with a F250 and did not have any problems, the weight of that model trailer was 1950# which gave me 5K capacity. I paid $2400 for it, the only thing I didn't like about it was the ramps stored in the sides of the trailer instead of pulling out of the rear.

I trailer my JD 4210 with FEL and backhoe on a bumper pull 18' long Carson with dove tail. Tows great but no extra room to haul the backscraper or extra equipment so tomorrow, I'm buying a gooseneck 24' trailer. I can load the extras on the front neck, load the tractor and still have room on the deck. BTW the G/N trailer is 4 month old originally sold for $6500...I'm buying it for $3800. Why so cheap you ask?....The seller used it to haul equipment from back east to the west coast when he moved. Now he's paying storage fees to park it.
