Ding ding ding, we have a winner. If you pull thru a weigh station, the duals will likely be weighed as a pair. Get too close to the limits and each would be checked for overloading. The trailer tires we have are rated at 1820, per times 4. That covers the 7000 lb trailer rating. The truck runs tires rated at 2680 per, times 6. That covers the 11400 for it. I'd have to foul up the loading to get near the ratings but I normally get weighed before a trip to make sure.

Different tire pressures, run one at 80psi and one at 65psi and the 80psi one will be carrying more weight.

Also by having more load on one side of the truck/trailer. Outer wheel would have more on loaded side and less on the light side.

Or more tire wear in a pair of duals, making one tire smaller in diameter. I think that is a common wear pattern.

Outer tires wear more than the inner ones. Worst tire on mine go to the rear outsides because the next step for them is the scrap pile.

Just a friendly reminder-you don't want a outer dually tire to have a lot more tread than the inner tire.
