Trailer tool box mount

Here's a video of mounting a trailer tongue box on a trailer. They used 1/4" hex head self tapping screws and washers. Their frame is C - channel but the same method can be used on box tube frame.

I would recommend using a 3/8th self tapper but that's personal choice.

Mine is made with 2x4x1/4" box tubing. I drilled and tapped the holes. Very solid, easy to remove (from the inside) and nothing to cut and steal.

Our new tool box was fastened down using "J" shaped bolts that we made ourselves from 1/2 inch round stock and threaded. We reinforced the floor of the box with a piece of 3/4 inch treated plywood. The bolts come up through the floor and the plywood and are fastened by way of fender washer and lock nuts. We also used a thin rubber tab between the J bolt and the bottom of the boxed frame.
