Last year I built a trailer that turned out to be fairly handy. It is a tiltdeck with tailgate. It has 14 inch wheels and is 5x101/2 feet. I built the sides high enough to be able to put a plastic 5 gallon gas can in and close the top. The top, which is as long as the trailer, folds down to create a flatbed above the main floor. This is really handy as you can put your gear in, close the sides down and load your atv on top. Also I put an extra set of hinges on the right side so the folding side can be slipped off and back on at the top to create a table to the side of the trailer. If you would like some pics I will put them on for you. The other thing is that I used a jack that I can pull a pin and rotate the whole of the jack in line with the trailer frame so it doesn't interfere with the pickup tailgate. The top can also be partially closed so a tarp can be thrown over to keep things dry or make a sleeping area.
