Cut and frame a hole in the lift gate that the tail wheel will fit into.

My old B8200 was about the same size. I had dual, stowed ramps, so it was no big deal; the tailwheel just hung over a bit.

Usually though, I would just back on the trailer, and allow the tailwheel to hang off the front, over the front hitch portion of the trailer. Worked fine, and left me some room for load balance.

Hey, thats an Idea !

Actually, I was thinking about trying to turn the entire rig around, maybe I can lift the bushhog wheel up over the front rail and gain some room.

I won't say I would be excited about this solution, but what about backing it on, removing the mower, the driving off and turning the tractor around and setting the bucket on top of the mower.

I have the Pats quick connect system to hooking and unhooking the mower wouldn't bother me. I just wouldn't like backing it up the ramps. Fortunately I have stowable ramps so I can let the mower hang off a little with a flag. But they aren't firmly attached to the trailer during the loading process, so that always gives me a knot in my stomach.

I understand how you got there as I bought my trailer prior to the tractor and could not believe 16' wouldn't be way longer than I would need. It is fine including with the box blade, but that brush hog sticks out a long way.

Yea, already thought about that, but like TripleR says, I have the lift up gate on the back that is a pain to take off.

I don't know about your trailer, but mine has a ramp as well. The ramp can fold fully down, so that it lays flat on the floor. If there is clearance, you could drive the tractor onto the trailer, pull it as far forward as it will go, lower the ramp so that it becomes part of the floor, and then back the tractor back up to a more balanced position. Chances are there won't be enough room up in the front of the trailer for this though, but I figured I'd suggest it.

Also, FWIW, I replaced the bolts that hold my gate on with some pins so that I can quickly take the gate off without tools. These: Lock Pin Sw Pack - 1833537 | Tractor Supply Company

Well I finally made it down to Barlow country and picked up my trailer last Friday. It is a 16' Gatormade Utilty with rear gate. I really like it alot and it pulls very well.

When I went to load my B2630 w/ FEL, and bushhog, lo and behold it was a bit to long for the trailer. I ended up taking the rear wheel off the bushhog and even then had to hang the bucket over the front of the trailer. Obviously didn't have much if any room to postion the load for balance and tongue weight, so I may have been a bit heavy up front.

Anyhow, just wondering what others are doing when loading with similar sized tractors w/ FEL and a rear implement such as a bushhog. Removing that bushhog wheel is a bit of a PITA, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Thanks !

Was looking at my bushhog today and was wondering if maybe I could hang the rear wheel assy over the front rail of the trailer, thus allowing me to back the bushhog frame all the way to the front. This may just give me enough room. It's gonna be close.

I got my trailer also before the tractor. When we were shopping for old pickup (for fun), we needed a trailer to haul the pickup. We went shopping for trailer and figured 18', but the 20' was only a few dollars more and would allow me to balance the load easier, so 20 ft, 10000 trailer (weighs under 2000 empty) allowed us to bring our "new" old pickup home. It towed very nice behind 1500 Suburban (about 5500 loaded). We bought a used L3130 and was going to take the pickup off to bring the tractor home, but the dealer said, delivery is included (and the price is the same if we pickup).... so the pickup is still on the trailer and we have a new toy.

Long story to say that I don't use my trailer very much but want to be able to haul a compact tractor or old car or whatever. The trailer is about right for the Suburban and will be even nicer behind 3/4 pickup later..

Yea, thats kinda what I had to do to get it on the trailer at all but didn't have the bucket that far forward. The tongue on my trailer isn't as long as that one so there is not a lot of room. Really scary when making turns - don't want to put a big old dent in my tailgate. :mur:
