Trailering your BX

I have a 20' 7500# GVW tandem axle trailer that I use for hauling my other toy around (FFR Cobra). There is so much room when I haul my BX24 that I can carry my bush hog and pretty much anything else I want. Just make sure you get some strong hold downs in either the floor or sides to keep the tractor from moving around.

I did a lot of research and actually had diffeerent trailers to try out. I ended up going with a 14' 7000 lb trailer for my BX-23. I like the smaller size, but still wanted room to put the BX straight in without moving the Backhoe to the side. I wanted to keep weight distributed equally. 14' is the perfect size. Get the 7000lb, not much more as far as cost and worth it.

I have the BX23 and like "radair" and another post said, you can certainly fit it on a 12' trailer with the BH moved to one side. It is a tight fit and you have no "play room" to center the load and no extra space to load anything else. The perfect size for a BX23 or BX24 would be a 14', however, this presents two problems ....... 1. Usually a 14' will cost as much if not more than a 16' because most trailer manufacturers do not consider the 14' a "standard" size and many only make them when specifically ordered. You will not regret going with the extra length of a 16'. 2. Will you ever be removing your BH to do any brush hogging? If so, will you ever need to transport your BX with the brush hog attached? Consider that before you decide on what size trailer to go with.

I also like the 16' trailer because most lumber comes in 12', 16', or 20'. 12' and 16' fit on the 16' trailer, of course. 20' fits ok if I keep in in the center and let it overhang a little in the front and back. A 16' also holds 12 or so Cub Scouts and thier decorations in parades /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have a 78" x 16' trailer that has a 7700# axle on it. Its nice to not be tight on the trailer so I can move the load around. Its also even better to not have the BH or FEL hanging over or off anything.
