Another technology TRAP! How long do the batteries last after power is removed? And then there is the issue keeping batteries up to date. Gelled acid batteries don't like to be discharged in power outages. Many don't last long after that.
Just another thing to look after, that won't get attention.

It's number of cycles... really to get you out the door.

I can see the general benefit in it. I just cannot agree with a state mandate. Governments that feel they need to make rules to keep people safe drive me nuts.

i swear all government regs suck. get this. a friend of mine recently built a house in another county up here and the building department REQUIRED him to put in a large underground concrete cistern (dont recall the volume) for use in fire suppression since their well pressure wasnt great. this thing cost a small fortune. gets is all done and tries to get sign off. they tell him fire dept needs to sign off on it. fire dept comes out and tells him under no circumstances will they hook their trucks up to a cistern as the water can be contaminated from standing too long and mess up their equipment. the fire dept told him the build dept has been doing this for years, even though they tell them they dont want it. by the way,.their head of the building dept is a calif transplant.

That gets me too. People leave an area because they don't like it, only to move someplace bringing those ideas with them!!!
People move near a drag strip then complain about the noise until it gets shut down. City people move to the country bringing their city ways along rather than acclimate.

you got that right. especially hate the people that complain of gun shot noises when someone is out target shooting. the police here tell them to move back if they dont like it, cause there not going to stop it.

We just had a local drag strip that wanted to expand to a race-park with road race course. Some locals opposed it on noise, traffic, hours, distance from property lines to track, etc... but lost. Drag strip gets to expand. When I was young, it was out in the middle of nowhere. Housing has popped up all around it. But it's been there for 50 years. I was actually surprised they let it expand.

Most lots here are 1/4 acre. We call every time we hear shots. Cops come out and issue tickets. There's no safe shooting in a densely populated residential area. Move out to the country if you don't like it, because they're going to ticket you every time.

There is a skeet club a mile and a half away that we hear every weekend. No problems with that. There's a property 1/2 mile away that does a lot of shooting, but they are in an old gravel pit and have safe backstops. No problems with that, either. However, right around us, it's house after house, next door, back-to-back, street to street. No safe place for discharging firearms under any circumstance but self protection.

On 1/4 acres i would not shoot either. We have 30 acres here, good backstops

We've got 20 acres out from town several miles. Nice hill with 60' elevation change that we can shoot into. Very safe. I don't mind people shooting. I was a competitive shooter from ages 14-18. Gotta stay proficient.
