I'm not sure anyone ever found a direct after-market replacement for the transmission filter -- best bet is probably a dealer. Dealer prices on parts for these things tend to be exorbitant generally -- OTOH, you won't need to change transmission fluid that often.

Amazon now shows some "compatible" Chinese filters, if saving $12 means a lot to you.

As Irving said, there are no officially cross referenced filters.

Some people use the Kubota BX aftermarket filters, which are not exactly the same. But, do fit, and may be close enough.

I have used the filter from the boxes in the picture in my GC2300 over the years.

Welcome to TBN Donna 2310TLB,

A few years ago Napa listed an after market transmission filter but I believe it was never made available to purchase.

I think it just fizzled out.

Unfortunately, with the exception of the NAPA/WIX filters, I don't believe of those are actually for the GC.

Last time I checked, they are for Kubota tractors, and will fit on the GC. Some owners do run them.

But, they don't actually list the GC's, because there is a subtle difference. I beleive it was the micron rating for the media.

OilFilterCrossReference.com lists them as the same, but as we found with the engine oil filters, it's always not accurate to cross to other filters, from a cross referenced filter.

If someone finds an actual listing that says otherwise, please post the link.

Ray after your post, I did some searching to compare and unfortunately not many list detailed specs. I have been using the filters in the boxes I showed after doing this GC2300 broken hydraulic oil filter flange because the threads were closer to the top of the filter and I preferred that. One of the those I showed was actually purchased from my Massey dealer when I purchased an extra filter (Unfortunately I don't recall which one) when he showed me the threads were the way I wanted.

I did run across this though Oil filter cross reference which provides more info on cross reference than my original post.

And this 4265229M92 Hydraulic Filter - Maple Lane Farm Service.

Hope it helps.

Do not go by "Oil Filter Cross Reference". They have been proven unreliable.

As an example, they once listed several Fram engine oil filters as crossing over to the MF filter, for the GC.

I asked Fram, to check them, and determine which is the best oil filter for a GC. They bought a MF filter, and tested it. They concluded there is NO oil filter in their inventory, that meets their criteria, to cross be referenced for use on a GC.

They said sometimes it's just a overall size issue, and they won't speculate if it's okay. But, they never gave me any specific details.

They also said, they would not consider making a filter for us.

I have had this saved for years now. Is the info on this not accurate?

I haven't seen a cross for the Mobil 1 or the K&N oil filters.

NAPA/WIX filters are fine. The problem there is, they are just as overpriced as MF. But, they are easier to get, for a lot of people who don't have a MF dealer.
