The problem with the WIX 10285 is it's a 23 micron filter... AND its listed as for KUBOTA tractors..... MF shop manual states hydraulic filter for 17xx series is a 10 micron.... After many hour of searching it seems there is no direct replacement for the AGCO OEM 6258877M911 by any reputable filter manufacture, seems AGCO has kept its specification a secret from all the filter manufacturers out there....

Do not go by "Oil Filter Cross Reference". They have been proven unreliable.

You mean a manufacturer only meets a couple of specs and calls it a "replacement". ray...say it isn't so!

I bought my 2300 when it first came out and from what I can ascertain, it had an ...M1 filter, which according to Snobdds is a 23mm filter.
The ...M2 filter superseded at some point (not sure when) which I believe is a 10mm filter. I checked my 2300 shop manual, which was printed at a later date, and it says a 10mm filter.

When I used the cross reference, I was desperate to find a filter that would fit physically. It had nothing to do with "saving a few $".

BTW I am not sure I understand that a cross reference might have Kubota but not Agco.
If it meets the necessary specs, would that be an issue? I believe screw size and threads are the same.

Seems AGCO has kept its specification a secret from all the filter manufacturers out there....

They can cut it open, and copy it if they want.

Fram said, there isn't enough of a market to make an engine oil filter for us. The market for a hydraulic filter is much less given they are not replaced nearly as often.

So, I'm fairly certain the other manufacturers feel the same way.

The moral of the story, is to buy a Kubota, ....and paint it red.

We of course, don't know what the standards are. Do they say, 23 micron is "good enough"? You can bet the Chinese hydraulic filters are the 23 micron or more. And, were made for the Kubotra's. I didn't want to save $12 bad enough. But, it may be okay.

Fram did show that they have standards. They several engine oil filters that fit, and will work. But, none that they will certify.

Yep! Just picked up some replacement scraper blades for my snow blower... at the Kubota dealer!
