I'd not mix brands. At least that is what my dealer told me and I do trust him. A little low won't hurt anything. Just so long it shows on the stick or in the window.

Motor oil may work "OK", but why not use a product which is "engineered specifically" for use in a hydraulic system???

I agree use the right type of oil for the application. I use 20W50 motor oil in my Gravely Tranny, GL1 grease in my Troy built tranny, and Hy-Tran equivalent oil for my IH tranny/hydraulics because that is what all of the machines require and have been recommended by the respective dealers for the equipment.

I agree with you, I'm an Amsoil person also, just got 2, 5 gallon buckets and will be doing my 50hr service in the next few weeks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
