Transmission sheared gears

Thanks. I would like to have mine installed a little more permanent since I will be using mine probably more than you would in GA.

I had read that it could be plumbed in line with the fuel somehow so that there is no need for a tank or bottle

Greg

Greg, They are often plumbed in line with the fuel return from the injectors. It flows to the bottle and then on to the fuel tank. The reservoir is just a collecting place for the fuel on its way back to the tank. Then another line runs down to the TS electrical plug.

All dealers will have this little tank. I doubt that it very expensive. I do not know how you would do this without some kind of reservoir. I do use mine all the time too. Plowing snow this winter makes it very necessary.

Just thinking about the TS plumbing - in theory - it should work fine simply fed from a t-connector in the fuel return line. The hose uphill from the injectors should be an adequate reservoir. Maybe you don't need a bottle!

I think the TS inlet is larger diameter than the fuel return hose so some adapters will be needed.

That is what I was thinking. Putting a tee just above the plug so that the fuel that is in the return line (the one going back to the tank) could feed the plug

Any one else consider this?

In principle that should do it.

But I think the space is too tight there, so I would put the T over by the right edge of your photo.

I haven't tried this so I don't know if it will really work. Before cutting anything, I would buy enough hose to restore the original plumbing - just in case this won't work for some reason.

If you do it, take some photos!

I ended up putting a complete thermostart on it from Hoye. But I had to straighten the bracket they sent me. It was bent and there was no way that would work for me. Had to straighten it out.

Was it bent in shipping or something? It should have been an "L" shape like in the link below. Those brackets all come right off of YM1500 tractors so they should bolt right on. Did it look like this --

Yes, but my engine does not have mounting holes on the top of the head...only the side. I will post a picture. Maybe this is yet another one of those little differences that mine has.

So far these are the differences I have found on mine

1. No diff lock
2. Ring and Pinion gear are not spiral cut
3. Tranny gears are a little differrent
4. Engine head is differrent.

Does your valve cover not look like this, with the 2 bolt holes in the left center?
