Re: Trees--cut with \'Limminator or \'Terminator?

"( Your tree shear will allow the stump to stay in the ground for easier burning and less soil impact. . )

Just out of curiosity, how do you get a stump that is green and underground, with access to air on only one side to burn?"

What I meant was that by leaving the stumps and dirt out of the slash pile, the slash will be easier to burn. Take less time too.

Not that you can't burn a stump out from above, there are folks who like to put an open ended barrel, both sides oper and dump a load of charcoal briquettes in there. You can burn it out if you can supply enough heat.

Phifer's the guy. He is due to be here about July 6 if I confirm with him, as he has another showing near DC. Gotta see what the spouse sez, that other one at 3000 or so seems mighty tempting vs $9K or so.

Did you get any discount off the prices listed on the www site?

Love that idea one poster just talked about--a 55 gal barrel open at the bottom filled with FIRE/charcoal to safely burn stumps. Pretty slick.

[it's frustrating that we cannot safely flash back to the discussion while writing a reply, to check a name, etc--Muhammed, ya listening?]

Another BTW: the Tree Terminator salesman did not come since I perceived he wanted more of a committment to buy before committing to come by. Dealers anyone?

I would be worried doing anything where the tree is clamped to the device with a skid steer, and I don't think a tractor loader could handle it at all.

A relatively tall 6" tree, a little off balance side to side, would torque almost any loader. Maybe this would work on a three point hitch better?

I didn't see how old this thread was. Sorry. Did this work?
