Tried the neighbors blue tractor

Gosh, I started here when it was Kubota only site.

Then I got a Kubota, and it was orange. But Allis Chalmers was the original orange.

Then, we used small block Chevrolet orange to touch up the orange on our Japanese tractors of all things.

Then... I outgrew the little B series Kubota, sold it, but could not find an L3410 on the used market.

So now..... I have a big blue NH TC40D. And get this... I like it :D

So after two years posting on a previously Kubota site, then 10 years on an all inclusive TBN thru multiple iterations, I post in all the forums!

So far as I have seen, the only one that is original is JD, which has always had JD green. And off all the tractors, that has just not been in my sights...

Otherwise, my old Kubota was Allis Chalmers Chevrolet Orange. My New Holland is Ford Blue from heritage. Even Kioti's look AC orange...

So before anyone talks about tractor colors... :D

I don't know about the blue orange thing..My BIL has a NH and it has been an outstanding machine for 15 years...While his is bigger than mine :(, he borrowed my BX to do some BH work and was very impressed with it...Dunno?

After 12 years around these things, I have found the primary manufacturers(Kubota, NH, JD, Kioti etc) are pretty competitive with each other. For the most part, it comes down to ergonomics and spiffy features the buyer likes. And the dealer/service network.

I really liked my old Kubota. But, I wanted something bigger than 19hp. Was looking at an L3410. But the used market was sparse. I never thought I'd get a 40hp tractor, but the TC40D was what was available on the used market.

Now, I still like the little Kubota(I am friends with guy who bought it, and still "see" it :D ). But, I really like this big NH. And the fact it has real steering brakes... But at the same time, I miss the treadle style HST pedal.

Although I'll admit I'm a Kubota fan I'd have no problem owning a JD, NH, Kioti..... I've seen them all and really liked them. It's all about what makes you happy I guess. ;)

I have owned 2 blue (1 Long 2360 and 1 NewHolland TC33DA) and 2 orange, a B7500DT and my present L3400HST, and enjoyed them all. They all have plus and minus points. The New Holland was probably the most refined and luxurious tractor I have ever operated with the most features, like auto trac and supersteer and many creature comforts.

I also pay absolutely no attention to what forum I am posting in.. I look at all forums at the same time by looking at all of todays post's.

I haven't given up on it yet. I am trying to correct some of the annoying issues but still haven't figured out a couple intermittent problems. The tractor will start vibrating rather roughly while using the rotary cutter yet there is nothing wrong with the cutter that we have been able to notice (its a brand new Bush Hog 295). Also, yesterday the tractor refused to go into range. With the clutch pushed all the way in it would grind trying to shift into low range. Had to shut it down and start it back up and it worked fine. So I don't know what that issue was but if it happens again I am going to have the dealer check it out. The other issues are just Kubota being lazy. Crappy seat, no cup holder, no interior rear view mirror (external mirrors are not ideal for vineyard/orchard use) and there are a lot of rattles inside that cab that makes its hard to hear. The 3pt control levers are one of the issues and I am going to look into a way to put something on them to dampen the vibration related noises. I still haven't found where the other noises are coming from but I will try to eliminate them one by one. I just didn't expect this from a brand new $43k Kubota. The worst part is that I love the Farmall 45A I also just bought, they actually thought of the guy sitting in the seat when they designed it and sadly I think that open station tractor is quieter then the cabbed Kubota :(

Sure sorry to hear you are having trouble with your 8540, we have used ours two summers and the cab is very comfortable and quiet. I like Kubota, but personally I would be talking to the dealer about correcting these issues and if not, go with another brand. Rockgod traded his very low hour Kubota in for a new John Deere and is very happy with it.

Of course of all my tractors I had the highest expectations of my Kubota and so far it has disappointed me the most. I am actually thinking of trading it in on a Deere and its only got around 40 hours so far :(

Maybe you should drop it off at my house. I'll make it a point to break it in proper and teach it some manners. After 5-10 years, I'm sure it'll behave just fine.

Sure but the payment book wants to go too.

Ed,
Forum threads and posts don't contribute anything to the membership when all that you have offered up and opinionated upon are to date based on nothing but generalities with no given specifics. You made a point now back it up with detail.
Four days have passed by and yet no response from the OP....
