Trivial use of tractors

HEY!! I'm proud of you! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I told you guys that setting it down was harder than picking it up. Now I admit that I am cheating a bit using a tooth bar and all, but for setting it down all the advantage goes away and a whole new set of problems creep in. I can pick it up like you did and I can put it down again, but every so often I still dump it (good idea with the bungie cords). After you get good at this you can work your way up to a basketball. Thats right a basketball. Now that's hard. First time I tried it I had to chase the thing all over the place till I traped it against a rock./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

So! Just how BIG would the field have to be to play a game? I think that we would have to use steel plate for the backboard as the glass would break too easily.

I think I'm gonna need a faster lift rate on my FEL to play. You know after reading some of the ... let's see what shall we call them ... /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif"Stupid tractor tricks?"/w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif in this thread. I think we may be on to a whole new series of events. Instead of tractor pulls (which compacts are no good for anyway) we could have events like cow pie flip, trash can carry, basketball pickup (and drop in the can), loader lofting, and others. We might include TPH hookup, Loader drop, MMM mounting, and best wheel stand as side events. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Ok! I think that I will be able to compete in all but the MMM mounting. My L3710 can't handle that.

The wheel stand part begs a question though, is that the back, front, or side wheels. I know that I have been able to even get my machine to rock diagonally on 2 wheels.

I thougt about this thread yesterday afternoon while lifting the body off of a volkswagen with my FEL. I took the body off so I could build a rail buggy.

When I want to get something done in my shed, my little fella just sits on the tractor making all the right noises and is happy doing that while I go about my business.

Pete, that is really sad to hear. The very idea of a Golden Retriever with any shred of aggression is just foreign to me. Every one I've ever seen has been incredibly sweet and loving. A raised voice usually has them almost freeze in place they're so anxious to please.

I sure hope you can find the breeder there and hope that he has records of where those dogs went. I'd hate to see something like this tarnish the reputation of such a wonderful breed.

On a tractor related note, I had occasion today to pick up a piece of firewood in my FEL bucket while I was backfilling the trench I'd dug to put my electrical ground rods in (another story). I carried the firewood all the way around the barn just to perform a test. I wanted to see if I could dump it in my F-450 dump truck since we'd repaired and painted the bed AND put on new wood sides. Of course, the sides were cut, bolted on and painted without even a moment's consideration to the height my loader bucket would go. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Fortunately, I was just able to clear the lumber and dump my bucket. It cleared by maybe six inches so there's no way I could back away without tilting my bucket back up. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
