trouble code reset

How do reset a trouble code on a 2006 JD 3320. I was bush hogging in some pretty rough terrain and stopped and shut off the engine for a short break and was then unable to restart the motor ,the starter just would not function.A look under the tractor around the starter showed a section of wire harness that the end of was very clean a what appeared to be something missing from it, but there was no other harness near it that would plug into it.I continued to look at the rest of the harness and found on the other side a simular harness and it had a plug in it with what appeared to be a jumper. I removed the plug with the jumper and plugged it into the harness on the other side near the starter and the tractor started and got me out of the woods and home. I obtained another plug and returned it to the place from which it was removed but now I have an error code flashing on the dash indicating error code o6 which according to the owners manual means cruise control problem. I tried the cruise control and it no longer works even with me replacing the orignal plug back to its harness. This probably could be corrected with the clearing of the code from the computer memory. Does anyone have any thoughts on this

I did a quick internet search and it seems to indicate the speed input in not working, ("No signal at MFWD speed input") which is why the cruise doesn't work. I don't know where the speed sensor is but I would guess either the sensor is bad or there's a broken wire.
