truck auxiliary fuel tank

I like having the extra tank to take advantage of good deals on fuel too. I don't do that many 4+ hr trips, maybe once or twice per year. But even on the little 3hr trips I usually pass a Raceway or truckstop with prices too good to pass up! The tractors can always use topping off!

I have been off the beaten path for a while and had no access to a computer and no phone service. Yes those places do exist, you just have to look for them. Thanks for the information. I will be purchasing a tank in a couple weeks. I guess I should answer a couple questions. One reason for wanting an aux tank is not having to stop so frequently. My wife travels well, and does not need to stop too often. The other reason is fuel prices. I work for an oil company, and get a discount on fuel at our stations. Sometimes it gets difficult to find one that sells diesel.

Have you thought about a replacement fuel tank with extra capacity?

I read about these things years ago but never bought one. My truck has a 38 gallon tank. Some of the tanks in the link almost double the amount of fuel my truck could carry while leaving the truck bed empty.

Filling up the tank might cause me a heart attack though.

Course you could install the replacement fuel tank AND add a tank to the bed of the truck and travel just about forever. :laughing:

hey now.. i might look into this. my 450 seems to have an enemic 20g stock tank, and then of course the added 50g tank in the bed.

if I could get a huge underslung tank.. that might be nice..
