Truck Restoration, Part II

I've started cleaning the truck since these pictures. Pulled the seats out and cleaned out the cab interior, replaced the DonePop tires with MayPops, removed the round fuel tank and pressure washed the engine and everything else. I'll have to remove the head from the flathead six because the sparkplugs have rusted off. Haven't tried to bar the engine over yet so I don't know if it's stuck. Removed the left door because of a broken lower hinge.

Lots of fresh red paint. The fenders, hood, fuel tanks and fifth wheel will be painted separately and then installed.

It looks like the rubber air/brake lines have been painted? Will you leave them red?

Whoa...My buddy just painted his '64 Malibu SS with '92 Dodge Viper single stage red paint w/hardener. Total cost of the gallon and a half red with 3 qts hardener and thinner was 1115.00. ....and thats wholesale cost. Red is expensive paint! He did buy the best paint on the market though...

Actually, the factory would have assembled everything and painted over it, hose and wiring included. Most of the air line is copper with only the hoses going to the brake chambers being rubber. A lot of what you're seeing has been masked off and painted over.

Supposed to install glass in the next few days. Still need to install the tanks, fifth wheel, mirrors, cab lights, bumper and trim. At least the hood and fenders are on it now. Hope it's finished in another week or so, shows are starting soon.
