Trying to decide if to get the GR2110

/ Trying to decide if to get the GR2110 #21
Have them check your PTO engagement adjustment. My 2110 was doing the same thing - poor cut, deck bogging down in any amount of grass, etc. Dealer came out and made a 10 min adjustment to PTO engagement, now its like a whole new tractor - great cut and unstoppable in any amount of grass.

That was the first thing I did to adjust the spring length on the engagement lever. If you noticed the mower gear box is alumumin on the new GR2110 decks. On the older TG1860s and simular tractors the gear box is cast iron. The blade tip speeds were more in the 16,000 rpm range which created more vacuum and thus lift and finer cuts. If you have a tuff lift and can safety measure the speed of the new blade tip speed with a digital tachometer you will at most see 14,500 and slower at engine maximum throttle. This is simply to slow for my taste and the quality of cut is at best not what you'd expect from a Kubota 8500.00 dollar mower. I'm going to stay after kubota for a high speed final drive gear box that gets the rpms where I get the cut I expect for the bucks I paid. Believe me Kubota is concerned about this design and many Dealer have refused to stock these unit because of the oil leaks seen on eariler models. I think the hydrostat is fine and the frame design is sound and the glide steer remains to be seen how well the cable will last but the quality of cut is gear box and deck related. I will eventually post what Kubota engineering will come to the party with. Commercial people need to stay away from this Tractor. Great homeowner model.
