TSC, What were they thinking?(Dark horse)

For the most part the local tractor/parts dealer is no higher than TSC and can help you. Their biggest advantage I find with them is they are on my way home and they are open later. So I can run there to find out they don't have it. I do find things there the tractor dealers does not stock and then others at a little better price but not often.

I have good things to say about the TSC in Enfield, CT. They are often out of things they should not be, but the staff is friendly and helpful. Around here, if it wasn't for them, us TBN types would be up the creek.

They also stock the 67h chain links for my old spreader, including rivets. The local Merrimack store tells me special order only.

I will not go to them any longer. They are invariably 2-3 dollars more than the local hardware for the small stuff such as hooks and pins and they were $138 more for tire chains. I do not think they are managed well at all and as a result, do not trust their corporate core to do right by the customer. They almost seem to be in business to be bought out by some one else.

I feel the same way, they seam to have an attitude ,they help you locate stuff in the store, but it seams like they don't care , sometimes I feel like I am bothering them for assistance. Dan the wannabe farmer. P/S I have no beefs with products, prices, they could be better!

Our local TSC does not care. I griped to management, emailed the company, left four messages with the area manager that were never returned. A new manager called me and apologized for the previous manager's apathy, so I went back once to find that nothing's changed. Even the checkout girl was complaining about the way the store is run. No thanks.

I will continue to go to TSC but what I do is cruise the clearence isle that is where the real deals are. The only time I really buy things there is if I have shopped them other places or I really need the item right then. I have gotten many good deals on clearence. and the way things keep going at our local TSC many more to continue. V

I bought a couple of 20' 5/16" Gr70 chains this winter from Harbor Freight. They were $24.99 at the time. For some reason, they have 3/8" clevis hooks on them.

Tsc has a 20' GR70 chain, last time I looked, it was $60.00. Funny thing was, it also had 3/8" grab hooks on it, and looked like it came from exactly the same MFR in China.

If HF can sell for a profit @ $25, imagine what TSC is making on the same item at almost 2 1/2 times the price.

I stopped by TSC on Thursday, and all of the Dark Horse stuff is clearanced big time. A 6' landscape rake is down to $150! The "carry all" was tempting, at $79.00, but there has to be a reason why it is all priced to dissapear.

I am thinking the same, are we that callus that we can't detect a rip off, open your eyes everybody and trust your gut instinct, they don't care about quality, its all about the bottom line, profit, wake up! Dan
