Does anyone have a Tuff Top canopy on their BX24? What size canopy did you get and how much did it cost?

SCR-44, and I don't recall what I paid for it...

Earlier thread on topic of sunshades. Some alternatives to TuffTop are discussed.

I looked real hard at those when I got my tractor. I decided to build my own. Glad I did, it has taken a beating since I spend some time in the woods. On Monday I was hogging an area in the woods, slipped between a couple trees and the tractor came to sudden stop. Figured the RC was hung up on something...nope, the tree was leaning and the front of my canopy was hung on the tree, had to back up and move. Not sure if the tuff top is that tuff. It scratched the paint.

I frequently hit mine on trees and the barn when mowing up close with no damage, and likewise back into my fence with the plastic fenders...but no, I wouldn't be able to "hang-up" the tractor with it. TuffTops are lightweight and intended to be easily removable...a plus for those who need to fold their ROPS. Although mine clears the barn door, I do remove it from time-to-time, seasonally or working in the woods...

I got one when I bought the unit. I think it is made by Kubota and uses fiberglass. It does a great job of protecting you, even under rain.

The only problem I had was that once on, the darn thing would not get into the garage! So I took a couple of the bolts out and put in quick insert pins like the ROPS. It takes a couple of minutes to fold both so that I can get it in and out of the garage.

I have a Tuff Top and think it's great if a little overpriced. It's the SCR-44 and assembles fairly easily.
If you hit a tree it just bends a liitle and snaps right back. It also will fold down in front of the rops and then you fold the rops back to get into the garage, etc. If you need to totally remove it it only takes about 30 seconds but it's easier w/ 2 people. And the orange color matches pretty well.

Thanks to all for the info. It sounds like the Tuff Top is just the ticket for me. I need something that can fold down or be removed quickly to fit in the garage and for trail maintenance in my woods.

That's a good point. With a fixed ROPS I only removed mine once and at the moment I can't remember why. Major hassle. I took about 1.5" out of my ROPS to clear the garage door. My only option unless it stayed outside...not, or I had to let air out of the tires every time...not.

I actually like mine in the woods as it helps keep some of the stuff off of me. But if I catch a big grapevine, it'll stop the tractor and sometimes pull the front wheels up!!

Whats the price of a Tuff Top for a BX tractor?

I paid around $300 from Depratt Equipment in Kansas via eBay. There's one on eBay now for $240 I think from someone else. I'm not sure where Enfield is but if you're in my area stop by and see it.

OK, I know where you are. You're on the VT border and I'm 1 mile from the ME border due east of you. Thanx Google Earth.

I see that they sell it for $315 plus $22 shipping. The other is $225 plus $65 shipping and it doesn't say it s TuffTop brand.....

Thanks for the info
