Turf Damage Prevention

Doubt this is the problem but another way to scuff things up in a hurry with the fronts is when the rear transaxle is in the "locked" position. This happened to me on my old Bolens G174 (transaxle lock didn't disengage) and the lawn got pretty carved up on the first few turns until I figured out what was happening!

Everybody is right on with their thoughts here. Remember you now have a much heavier tractor than before. My L3010 is just as easy on my turf with my R4 tires as my old B2150 with turfs. I don't turn too sharp at too fast a speed if the ground is moist.

I have been pleasently surprised at how little my setup tears up the yard. I just don't mow when we have had a lot of rain. I let the ground dry first.

I take my loader off when I finish mow so I can get into tighter spaces and it is easier and faster without it. 4 or 5 minutes too take it off and put it back on when your done. I leave it on when I bush hog or cut the pastures.

I was also experiencing some turf damage when turning with my 3010 while mowing with turfs. Removing the FEL reduced it some but the greatest impact came from slowing down for the turns, I found that I could even turn fairly sharp if I slowed down. Of course at first I was trying to turn with manual cruise control engaged and found you cannot turn at the same speed that you can mow unless it's a gentle turn.
