Okay Dokey. Yeah, that is a "pretty big array". That telescoping tower is pretty nice too. :)

I've seen arrays like that before...

Have you calculated the forward gain of that 8 bay array? I would guess maybe around 23 dB? How narrow is the beamwidth? I would guess the 3dB beamwidth points would be what 2 degrees? I bet sharp as a razor. Inquiring minds want to know. :)

I have seen a yagi used with a satellite dish delivering some amazing outputs, downside was very directional.

The ants in those pics are HDB91X. Gain chart from Solid signal.

The combiners were custom built by Dave Clingerman W6OAL in Colorado. Two 4-ways and one 2-way for an 8.4db increase . Either config did well on scatter out to 200 miles, some 100 mile stations almost drop free mid afternoon. Just an experiment.Too much windload to leave in the air on a permanent basis.

The antennas I'm using now for UHF are Triax Unix 100 Band A designed for Ch's 14-36,four in a row spaced at 31" on a fiberglas H rack. These ants are 1.5 ft longer and the elements are 2" wider than the 91X type widebands. I've had these for over 10yrs and the gain charts are long gone from the net.To give you an idea how much better these are on 14-36 I have an HDB91X mounted 4ft above the array and it takes 29db of attenuation to level the playing field. The sweet spot on the array is around 1 deg,but the Yaesu 800DXA can easily find it on slow speed. This pic is similar.

1 degree... wow.. that's pretty sharp.

. Awesome and outstanding .

My favorite analog screencap was from your neck of the woods; CHCH-tv3 Ch67 Muskoka in Nov 2004.Loved the analog days.
