Tweaked FEL Output

Here is a picture of my adjustment nut. It had never been touched. The nut is a 13 mm and the allen set screw is a good ol' American SAE 1/8".

( I adjusted my 7308 on a TC33D last night using the method first posted here. It took a little less than a half a turn inward to be able to lift the front without using the curl. Your tractor may vary.

I started out with a half turn to see how much that affected the pressure. See Attachment

As a half turn raised the pressure by almost 250 PSI (it's hard to say for sure because my initial 1775 PSI reading was at 2700 RPM and every reading after that was at the correct 2600 RPM) I opted to bring the set screw back to the original setting and try one eighth of a turn instead. So there you have it, I am now at around 1850 PSI at 2600 RPM. I have to go out of town for a week so I won't get to do any more on this for a while but I wanted to post my findings before I left. I figure I will try it like this for a few hours on the hour meter and then test it again. So for all you adventurous guys out there keep in mind that one full turn of that little set screw will probably equal a 500 PSI change.

Spencer200, do you have any input on this?

How much did that setup cost including gauge?

Thanks )

Rowski, it was around $54 and the friendly store manager assembled it all for me for no extra charge.

Spencer,

Very Informative, thanks for the effort, the pictures and the post.

So Spencer based on what you found, a guy should probably leave it alone. Unless one would buy a gauge and make sure you had room to adjust it. I guess for me mine works pretty good and have no reason to up it.

I think the 1800 psi at 2600rpm may be for comparison sake only.

I broke out my TC33D repair manual and here is what is says:

FRONT (DOUBLE SPOOL) REMOTE VALVE

1. Install a 0-207 bar (0-3000 PSI) pressure gauge to the high-pressure tube, 1. (top hyd connection)

2. Start the engine and operate the hydraulic system to warm the hydraulic fluid to normal operating temperature.

3.Set the throttle at full throttle. (2800rpm)

4. Move the control lever to lift control-raising position and observe pressure indication on the gauge. Pressure should be 121 bar (1750 psi).

5.If required, adjust the relief valve by loosening the locknut and turning the adjusting screw, refer to items 15 and 16, Figure 8-76.

My additions are in blue.

I started a new thread on this subject over in the New Holland Owning/Operating Forum.
