Uh Oh Poison Ivy.....

I was clearing a fence line one year in the late part of June and got into Poison Ivy, Oak or Sumac. Looks like I had been in a fight with Mike Tyson. My eyes were swollen and a itchy rash that spread to places unmentionable after I took a shower! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Does anybody have pictures to post of these pesky plants/vines/ivy? I still wouldn't recognize it if I ran across it again.

remember the following, LEAVES OF THREE LEAVE THEM BE!

poison uivy and oak have a 3 leaf patern, the sumac grows more as a small shrub/tree than a vine as ivy/oak does. and is harder to identify as there are non-poisinous version of sumac too, looks very similar too... usually the ok kind has red tipped leavelets. brances of leaves almost look like wallnut type leaves, I belive 9 or so leaves on a branch but I'm not sure if htere are the usuall 3 leave stems on the bush wig end or not>?

Also typical is Glossy or WAXY looking leaves on the poisinous stuff..

there is also a lot of 5 leave ivy which is not dangerous but usually has PI mixed in with it as they compeat for same space and thrive in same situations...

The main ingredient is deodorized mineral spirits, the rest is basically ethanol (alcohol) and some fats. While the price is not bad, (the four oz. is over $6 at Walgreens), I think mineral spirits would be cheaper. John
