re a bushing for the implement's top pin: a piece cut from 3/4" water pipe is just right to fit in the hook's notch.

This is on a set of rear forks I made.

I bought that optional fork adapter to hitch my rotary mower, but I found a method simpler than using that: Since the mower has a rear wheel(s) you want it to track the ground contour rather than stay rigid relative to the tractor. The only time you need a top connector for the mower is when you want to lift the mower off the ground. I found throwing a loose loop of chain around the mower's top and the qhitch top is simpler to set up than using that fork. I also pull the hook pins (see photo above) and fold the hook up out of the way.

I've seen those on line. Never understood how/where they go. It looks like you still need to slide a pin in the top link of the implement, so that effectively makes it like Pats lower link quick hitch things.
So far, this seems like too much work to get right. I've found that by building 8x8 pads for my implements, and making sure they're level, it's not that big a deal. Perhaps not quite as quick as a QH, but close.

Has anyone noticed a problem with the additional extension affecting the lifting capacity of the 3 pt hitch?

Takes me longer to back up to the implement then it does to hook up but I have a Fused and Plated Neck, c4 5 6 and 7 so it is hard to tell if I am aligned with the lower hooks, took less then 5 minutes to switch from box to back blade today, it was my first time doing it by myself.
The adapter is not going to change lift capacity any more then the hook will.

Jim.

I think somewhere along the way here except in a few extreme cases, we have lost concept of how QH operates..... Answer me this scenario, you have standard CAT-X Quick Hitch and it has a welded permanent top hook that can not be moved/removed, how do you make your implement work with such a quick hitch, and in almost all cases you have to use hook.....

This scenario is brought forth because my QH hook mount system is wider than any of the "Y" shaped adapters....

With your hook, you could remove it, turn it over, and install it up-side-down over a top link attachment point.

With a welded hook, you could make a side plate adapter like I did.

Scenario is one has to use hook... Using removable pin each implement change is not option.......

Make a 'side plate adapter' on the implement like Bruce has in post #25, except with a solid bushing at the forward end that the hook can engage.

Is this what he's talking about?
Yes except the 'added side plates' in your diagram are shown pinned to the holes where the hook is bolted/pinned in. I wouldn't pin it like that.

I'm thinking an adapter fabricated to be a semi-permanent addition to the implement, with a bushing at the front of the adapter that stays rigidly at a consistent height so the hook can find it.
