ULSD is NOT going to destroy, or even harm, any engine--regardless of when it was made, regardless of whether you put additives in it. Btw, it is a requirement that any additive you put in ULSD must also be <15ppm sulfur as well.

That sticker on the Valero pump HAS to be requirement that you will see on ALL non-ULSD pumps. Diesel with sulfur content greater than 15ppm can damage the new emission systems.

You will probably start to see plenty of those warnings between now and September. Starting in July the bulk distributors will be stocking up on ULSD and by September all deliveries to retailers will be ULSD (that's the new law). The stickers should start to disappear once existing supplies of high sulpher diesel are used up and replaced by ULSD.

According to the information I haved seen, some high sulpher diesel will still be produced BUT will not be available thru normal retail channels (ie. for special order customers only). Off-road diesel will be ULSD.

Don't you think that if you have heard about it (the super- hydrogenation of aromatic hydrocarbon rings in the middle distillate fraction results in less natural inherent lubricating ability once the sulfur is removed via this methodology) that the oil companies who designed and manufactured the multi-billion dollar catalytic apparatus might have also heard about it? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Not one diesel engine was destroyed by using biodiesel. To say this is a flat out lie. None all of the fuel was condemned. Most of the problems were caused by poor diesel. The oil company empty tank completely when they should leave three feet in a tank. Oil companies use biodiesel as a excuse to sell sludge off the bottom of storage tanks.
As for 62% of the Minnesota Trucking Association having trouble is a small group of people who have try causing problem for a long time. 17 of 25 filter that they send in came back with algae in them. Algae is cause by poor handling not biodiesel.
Many trucker used 5%, 10%, 20%, even 50% biodiesel with out problems. If biodiesel destroyed hundreds of engines wouldn't the Trucks assations be talking about it. Since February when the biodiesel plants became 9001 complained there has been very little problems.

I ran 20% biodiesel all last year including winter without any problems. Change filter once a year like normal.
