Long 2510
Purchased a Long 2510 with a front end loader recently and it did not come with and stands to unhitch the front end loader. Just curious if anyone would have any tips on how to unhook the loader, or how to possible make some stands for it. Thanks in advance for your comments.

First, are you absolutely sure there are not some stands that are pinned up to the loader arms? On some I've seen, they look like they're part of the loader arm, but they unpin and fall down.
You may be able to use some jack stands if you don't really have built ins.
Did the loader not come with any instruction manual? I'd call the dealer and find out from him/her what's up with the loader. John

Caddo - attaching a picture that shows the support arms that I believe John is referring to. Yours most likely would be different, but should be the same basic idea.

Caddo, we have a bush hog loader, the stands are stored inside the cross support, and are inserted in pockets when the loader is removed. TB

I don't know what loader is on your tractor, but three of our tractors have loaders with no legs or supports. The loader has a subframe that goes around the frame of the tractor. In the front on the tractor there is a cross bar that connects the left and right sides of the subframe. There are 2 pins that are removed or rotated and the cross bar comes out of a support rack mounted to the frame. The back of the loader's subframe is also is connected to a support. Some of these back locations have pins and some the loader just rests on them.

After everything is unpinned you drop the bucket to the ground and start backing up. Sometimes you have to load the loader so that the front cross bar comes out to the front mount. Back up some more and the rear attachment points disconnect. Then you load the cylinders that lift the loader arms like you are trying to lift the arms, but since the loader is loose from the tractor now the front cross bar goes down. Now you just back up a bit and lower the front cross bar a bit. Repeat the little steps until the cross bar is on the ground and it is now the loader stand. Back up just enough to ensure the loader has no weight on the tractor and then disconnect the hydro hoses.

Some times it takes 10 minutes to do all of this and some times it takes 45 minutes and a hammer and tank bar to get everything apart. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
