It is much easier, just set your item to be cleaned in the electrolyte and forget about it for a few hours. It seems to remove all the rust even on the inside where blasting would not be able to reach. It is slower time wise, as you have to wait for the process to work. But less labor intensive. What I like to do is throw what ever I am cleaning into the blast cabinet after just to etch the metal so the paint sticks better. I just give it a quick once over to rough up the surface. I figure it can't hurt, and it removes the last of the black residue that is part of the process. I was quite impressed the first time I did it. I can see there always being a need for blasting, but this is a great way to remove rust if you don't have the equipment for blasting.
