I don't ever recall having to use 1st. Gear either on my 2000. If it's Slower then that the Shadow from the Sun would move quicker.

I honestly cant imagine why even on a rice tilling tractor you would want to go that slow? Maybe its the gear you use for moving houses or 50000 pound trailers?

first gear on my YM2000 is so slow that i dont think i have ever seriously used it other than testing or just messing around?

That is the .50 cent per hour work speed... They work real slow for that low wage...:laughing:

I use 1st Low all the time, at an idle, for one specific purpose:

Sneaking up on a pallet for the last couple of feet, standing up to see where to steer and adjusting height/tilt of the loader forks, as uneven ground pitches the tractor in various directions.

I know this is an old thread. Creeper gear is for using a pto driven 3pt trencher on older tractors. HST takes its place now days on most machines.

These tractors were not probably ever thought of to use a 3pt trencher when made. There basically rice paddy tillers. Not that that would not be a good use of it. The American versions had it just cause they were basically copies of the Japanese versions where they wore a tiller 80 to 90% of the time.
