Up date on PTO problem. searching for owners of ........

Hi all, I am searching for anyone who has a :- Ford 1300, 1310, 1500, 1510 and 1710 with single plate clutch, as according to the Ford manual they were fitted with the 'One - way clutch assembly". and my question to you is, when standing facing the PTO shaft, with engine off and PTO disengaged, can you turn the PTO shaft by hand in both anti clockwise and clockwise direction. Lastly with PTO engaged which direction can you turn the PTO by hand.

With the PTO engaged, you should be able to turn the PTO shaft by hand on the clockwise direction but should lock in the anti clockwise direction. As long as the one way clutch is working right that is.

With the PTO disengaged/in neutral, you can spin it by hand in both directions.

Firstly, thank you for your reply, much appreciated.
The details you have written is exactly how my PTO performs. But when I select PTO with engine running it will turn a few times then stop, then might start again. When it is turning you cannot stop it by hand.
Do you have any idea what could be causing my problem, where to look and for what ?
