I have been busy the last two nights trying things out. Last night I put the Land Pride STP-25 tree/post puller on and was ripping trees out with relative ease. I have 20 acres of old CRP land that the prior owner seemed to just let "grow" and I'm trying to get it ready for my farmer who is leasing so he can actually use it all. Anyway, it was pulling up to 4" trees out pretty easy. Now I just need to figure out how to route the hydraulic hoses so there is less change of them getting pinched. I think that model is made more for skid steers so the hose didn't line up as good as on the grapple. Once I get all the large saplings/trees out I'll be dying to start work on some clearing for plots and planting more trees out back. Then I keep remembering we are still in winter....

I did get LED's up on the ROPS so I have two Rigid 4 LED pod lights facing forward. I ordered 4 so I'd have 2 forward, 2 rear but for whatever reason they weren't installed when I took delivery. It may have been a blessing in disguise as I may just swing the two around and do a light bar on top. I'm pretty sure that will turn night into day :)

Majorwager - That cab look great. I didn't know they had one. I feel too young for that luxury at this point but as time marches on that may be the ticket. I thought I saw heat controls. The only other one I saw was vinyl. Great to know it can be added in the future. I'm plowing with an RTV currently and also out in the open air. I do have one piece of plexi for a windshield but no doors or anything. I gear up with hats, gloves, boots and snow bibs if it gets nasty. The RTV and hydraulic plow combo works great up to about a foot of snow OR until the banks get to about 3'.

Congrats on the MX! Glad it's working out for you!

TripleR,
Messick's has produced a you tube video describing the MX . Messick's states that this machine is not based upon an older series L. Have a look, see for yourself.

Johnny,
Also welcome. I am near Rochester as well, and enjoy my MX. This has been a brutal winter, and I added a cab (aftermarket) last fall. It is all glass made by Agrital. If you have interest at a future point, you would have an opportunity to see my installation. Several photos attached, winter application.
That's a great looking aftermarket cab ... What did that set you back?

TSO,
$4400. Complete, shipped to my door from Italy. Believe I could have improved the cost if I had first learned Italian.

Johnny,
Most folks agree that aeration is key to green paddocks/pastures, landscape, lawn areas. I have a Befco tiller with straight blades. It cuts "slots" in the lawn to allow rain penetration and combat compaction. Visit the Befco website and look at greenrite seeder. There is photo info how straight slotting improved an athletic field. I mention this because there is a local Amish welding shop that would fabricate straight blades for your tiller, converting to a duel purpose machine. Very economical. Let me know if you have interest.

If the aux work light circuit under the right rear fender on the MX was used to power the two LED's, it may not be sufficient to handle more lights. That circuit is only rated at 4.5 amps so check the rating on the lamps before connecting more. If it hasn't already been done, you may have to use another circuit or run a separate one back to the battery.

Thanks, will do, I went back and forth on the lot looking at them when I bought my L5030, looked at the specs and have been told the same thing, but Messicks should know far better than I.

I'm still not so sure, my L5030 had the same mechanical HST and yes more features standard and as options, but the basic tractor was pretty much the same. He talked about the MX having more weight, but it is 256 pounds lighter thn the open station and 631 lighter than the cab.

I see more similarities than differences between say an MX5100 and L5030, but that's just one opinion.

If he wants a light bar, that will definitely be it's own circuit. My son bought me a beautiful TSC light bar for my tractor, it needed 15 amps. Used a fuse box from Amazon Amazon.com: OLS 6-Way Blade Fuse Box [LED Indicator for Blown Fuse] [Protection Cover] [1 Amp] - Fuse Block for Automotive: Automotive, which worked great. Price has gone up a little, but at less than $10.00, I thought it was a steal.

Anyways, I decided the light bar was way more light than I needed so I put it on my side-by-side and put 4 LED lights on the ROPS, 2 floods and 2 spots. Have them on a 10 amp fuse, but together they still draw less than 5 amps.
